My daddy had sex with me 3 times in the night' - 10-yr-old girl tells court

LAMENTATION OF A 10YR OLD GIRL

A 10-year-old girl who was sexually abused by her own father, has told a Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja, how her father, Ajayi Gbadegesin, raped her three times in one night, describing in tears, the horror she went through in the hands of a man who brought her into the world.

The court, presided over by Justice Kudirat Jose, also heard how the 40-year-old Gbadegesin, a commercial bus driver, allegedly defiled the girl for over 18 months, always threatening her with death if she dared divulge the secret to anyone.
The case was brought to public knowledge when one Babatope Adamolekun, saw the girl begging for alms somewhere in Lagos and wanted to find out why she was not in school.
Adamolekun narrated how he met the abused child:
"I was on my way to work at about 8am, when, at the Bello Bus Stop, Iju, Lagos, I saw the 10-year-old girl begging a woman for money.
I asked her why she was not in school and the victim narrated to me that she lost her mother, was staying with her step-mother in Agege, a suburb of Lagos and needed money to go back.
She added that her father had been having sex with her for more than one and half years and that she almost died from the previous night’s experience, as her father had sex with her more than three times.
When I asked for her father's whereabout, the girl told me he was a commercial bus driver and that his bus was parked not too far away from the bus stop and that he had gone to get fuel.
I called on four people and when he came back, we nabbed him and forced him into a tricycle and took him to the Red House Police Station at Iju Ishaga, Agege.
On getting to the station, I told the police what happened and they assigned a female officer to take the girl to hospital for test and treatment.
I assisted them with N7, 500 that evening when I was showed the result from the hospital that confirmed that her father had sex with her. The DPO directed them to charge the matter to court immediately after seeing the report.”
The rapist father, however, confessed to sleeping with his daughter, blaming the devil for the act.
“I know I have committed a very serious crime but it was the devil’s work,” he pleaded.
Justice Jose promptly ordered that he be remanded in the Kirikiri Prison while adjourning the case to October 6, for judgement.
