SHOCKING: Police corporal kills colleague over 300,000.

Killer police officer: Daramola Tosin As shocking as it sounds, a police corporal, Daramola Tosin, has allegedly killed another police officer, inspector Lateef Shuaib. According to a report by Punch, corporal Tosin who has since been dismissed was attached to the Ekiti Police Division in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State. Tosin allegedly shot Shuaib after secretly withdrawing up to N300,000 from Shuaib’s bank account without his consent. It was gathered that Shuaib had entrusted Tosin with his Automated Teller Machine card when he fell ill. The victim’s sister, Sherifat Hammed, was said to have reported to the Osi Police Station on May 10, 2016, that Shuaib had been missing since May 6. She suspected Tosin because her elder brother informed her when he was sick that he entrusted his UBA ATM card to the suspect to help him in withdrawing money. Commenting on the matter, the Kwara state commissioner of Police, Sam Okaula, said he ensured that discreet investigation was conducted, adding that the suspect was arrested. The CP said, “We do not condone crime. We go after anyone including members of the Force who go out of their way to commit crime. We will investigate and prosecute them if found culpable and ensure we gain conviction. This particular dastardly act will not be an exception.” The suspect was arraigned on Tuesday, June 8  before a magistrate’s court in Ilorin. READ ALSO: Shame! What popular pastor was caught doing is totally outrageous The magistrate, Mr. Nurudeen Adeyanju, who did not take the plea of the accused, said his court lacked jurisdiction to entertain the matter since it was a murder charge. AFP Germany’s Australian Open champion Angelique Kerber reached her second Wimbledon semi-final on Tuesday to edge closer to the world number one spot. IYC begs Buhari to act on his appeals to end militancy

OVIE OKPARE, WARRI The umbrella body for Ijaw youths, Ijaw Youth Council has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to act on his appeals to Niger Delta militants to halt hostilities by personally kick-starting the dialogue process with stakeholders in the region. A statement signed by the spokesman for the group, Eric Omare, on Sunday, stressed that only a genuine and serious engagement with Niger Delta people would address the recurring agitation from the people. The group which was reacting to recent appeal by the President, urging the rampaging militants to embrace and halt further attacks on oil facilities in the region, said multiplicity of new militant group was not a barrier to achieving peace if the government was sincere.
