The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, on Monday called on the Muslim community to pray fervently against all forces against the economic well-being of Nigerians.
Specifically, the Sultan while noting that the Muslim Ramadan fast would end either on Tuesday (today) of on Wednesday (tomorrow), enjoined the Ummah (community) to imbibe the lessons of the holy month.
Abubakar, who spoke in a goodwill message to mark the Ramadan fast, through the Secretary-General, Jama’atu Nasrl Islam, Dr. Khalid Abubakar-Aliyu in Kaduna, insisted that Muslims shall be accounted for their actions and inaction after the Ramadan.
Therefore, the Sultan, who is also the President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, said,  “The inherent lessons embedded in fasting, such as faith, sincerity, sacrifice, humility, compassion, giving, piety, commitment, should be sustained for our own good.
“Nigerian Muslims are, therefore, called upon to cast back their minds to the good virtues of the month of Ramadan and keep to its teachings all through.
“More so, Muslims are reminded to keep to the ordinances of the Glorious Qur’an for their spiritual upliftment, peace and tranquillity.”
Also, the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State has called on Muslims in Nigeria to pray for peace and good economy as the world celebrates the end of Ramadan fast.
The party urged workers in the state to have fresh dialogues with the state government.
In its special Eid message, contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Director of Publicity and Strategy, APC, Oyo State, Olawale Sadare, the party said the Holy month of Ramadan “is usually treasured as it offers” mankind divine visitation, forgiveness of sins and renewal of relationship with God.
