But a media aide to Buhari said the president would travel to Ogoniland in Rivers state to flag off a long-awaited clean-up of the area, which has been affected by oil spills. “All things being equal, the president will be in Ogoniland on Thursday for the historic clean up of the area,” the aide told AFP. In August 2011, a United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) report said Ogoniland may require the world’s biggest-ever clean-up. A fowl thief nearly met his end after residents of a community caught him with five stolen fowls and descended heavily on him. A 19-year-old man who has been stealing people’s fowls nearly lost his life after an angry mob allegedly caught him stealing five fowls at Awutu Bereku in the Central region of Ghana. Narrating the incident to Adom News’ Kofi Adjei, a member of the Awutu Bereku Watch Dog Committee, Kwaku Adawu said residents have been complaining of their missing fowls in the area for some months. A b ricklayer, Demola Wasiu, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly killing his friend, Lekan Omotosho, 27. Punch Metro  learnt that Wasiu, an indigene of Ede, Osun State, stabbed the Ogun State indigene in the armpit after he refused to charge his phone for him. The victim was said to have lost a lot of blood before he was rushed to the Lagos Island General Hospital, where he died on Friday. The suspect, who was arrested by policemen from the Lion Building division, was later transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba.
